In the second half of 2020 and throughout 2021, Ukraine exported about 148900 tons of raw materials for the production of sunflower oil, earning $49.8 million. This is almost 80% more than in 2020.
Ukroliyaprom said that growth between 2019 and 2020 increased by almost 11 times.
The main buyers of raw materials for the production of sunflower oil are the states that are part of the European Union. From the harvest received in 2020, European states purchased more than 114000 tons of seeds, and the growth of exports from Ukraine increased by 10.6 times.
Bulgaria has become the leader in the import of sunflower raw materials in this marketing year. Its volume imported to Bulgaria has increased 250 times compared to all previous marketing years. The total amount of raw materials imported to Bulgaria amounted to 101900 tons worth 33.218 million dollars.
In September-December 2020-2021, exports to Turkey amounted to 29.825 thousand tons, and its growth amounted to 57.6 times compared to the period of the last marketing year, while the export value amounted to 6.37 million dollars.
